As a full-time professional photographer for more than 40 years, Brian has honed his craft through a rich and diverse career, spanning from photojournalism to commercial photography. He began his career in 1983 as a staff photographer for a North Carolina daily newspaper, where his work in news, features, and sports garnered numerous accolades, including awards from the North Carolina Press Association and the Associated Press.

Brian's early career was defined by his commitment to documenting important and often challenging social issues. His assignments included covering the war-torn streets of Nicaragua during the Sandinista era, reporting on the rise of crack cocaine dealers, photographing the Ku Klux Klan, and chronicling the shrimping industry, among many other significant subjects.

In 1990, after being selected as a Rotary exchange student in Venezuela, Brian transitioned to freelance work, focusing on news, public relations, advertising, and product photography. Over the years, he has captured major national stories, including the Branch Davidian conflict in Waco, TX, the Oklahoma City bombing, the tragedy of JonBenet Ramsey, OJ Simpson's infamous trial, and the Columbine High School shooting.

Whether photographing large medical systems or helping brands visually communicate their products, Brian’s ability to adapt to his clients’ needs is unparalleled. Specializing in location photography, he offers a creative approach that suits the fast-paced nature of modern businesses, ensuring that images are delivered efficiently, with digital files ready for graphic artists or printers even under tight deadlines.
