Brian began his career in 1983 as a photographer covering news, features and sports for a North Carolina newspaper and a national wire service. His photography was recognized with numerous awards from the NC Press Association and the Associated Press. During this period, Brian also freelanced for national and international publications. His early subjects were diverse, from the effects of war on children in Nicaragua, crack cocaine dealers, the KKK, to the shrimping industry and hundreds of other features.
In 1990, Brian began freelancing exclusively focusing on news, public relations, advertising and product photography. He has covered an array of national stories including the Branch Davidian conflict in Waco, TX, Oklahoma City Bombing, the tragedy of Jon Benet Ramsey, OJ Simpson, and the student shootings at Columbine High School to name a few. Represented by Zuma Press, Brian's pictures are published worldwide.
